Title: Forum merge imminent

Melancholy Spork - November 10, 2007 04:29 AM (GMT)
Anaglyph will be merging with another gamemaker forum. Not much will change here, except a few extra forums will be added, and many new members will arrive.

Just informing the public.

Kayru - November 10, 2007 05:56 AM (GMT)
You're kidding.

...Why??

Melancholy Spork - November 10, 2007 06:28 AM (GMT)
Like I said, nothing much will change, you'll just have to put up with a few more people. :P

Higher Res-Girl - November 10, 2007 06:30 AM (GMT)
Are these people....

Idiots?

Immature?

Failures?

People who act like the retards on BZPower?

SkittleShmexRawr - November 10, 2007 06:34 AM (GMT)
This should be interesting. :]

Kayru - November 10, 2007 06:41 AM (GMT)
WHY

We can handle having our own forum, why couldn't they?

SkittleShmexRawr - November 10, 2007 07:01 AM (GMT)
Maybe that's not the case.

Egocentric Utensil - November 10, 2007 12:48 PM (GMT)
I'm with Kayru. More people doesn't always mean necessarily better, especially when we're as tight-knit a community as we are.

MrShandavio - November 10, 2007 01:30 PM (GMT)
It's not a big deal. Activity is always a good thing, and, trust me, they're not all idiots. :P

Besides, if things go according to plan, you'll be getting a Review Center (for posting things along the lines of photos/images, audio, video, games, literature, and so on to be reviewed) and a database of music/anime/etc.

Melancholy Spork - November 10, 2007 03:40 PM (GMT)
Our community hasn't really been growing, and there's no reason why it shouldn't. They're not all idiots, I'd warrant, and you won't be asked to behave any differently around them, so there's no reason to panic.

*DWAN* - November 10, 2007 03:53 PM (GMT)
Why are you merging though?

Are you on survivor?

Frankin-kal-96 - November 10, 2007 05:57 PM (GMT)
Well, this certainly woke me up...

...because growing communities FTW?

Do you guys not want more members?

Kayru - November 10, 2007 07:09 PM (GMT)
There's no problem with it, I just don't see why it's really necessary, or any reason why we should need more.

Melancholy Spork - November 10, 2007 07:18 PM (GMT)
Well, several reasons. The first of which being that I'd like a more Gamemaker-oriented community than we have now, without terminating the off-topic community that's flourished. Adding Gamemaker users will help with that.

Secondly, more members is just a good thing to have.

SkittleShmexRawr - November 10, 2007 09:28 PM (GMT)
More members = more publicity for Anaglyph.

No, he can just make a topic in the GM forum...

www.venomforums.co.nr

It's dead for now, though, but I'm going to be getting the majority to re-join here, along with some new guys that I know would join. You have to register to view the forums, though, but I wouldn't recommend it, because, again, it's dead.

So which is better, making a topic on a forum and hoping a few people will see it and join, or guaranteeing a bunch of new members from another forum?

Also, whenever someone creates something, they want it to do well. You don't spend all your time creating a website and forum only to stop the growth at a certain point.

Hmm... yeah, actually, I think you're right... just making a topic increases the chances of the members joining being noobs.

But if that forum is dead, then maybe you should, you know... take the "JOIN TODAY! IT'S FREE!' part out of there...

I don't think anyone goes there anymore, anyway, but I'll change it to something along the lines of "Board moved, click here" after the merge is final.

SkittleShmexRawr - November 11, 2007 03:57 AM (GMT)
Lawl, you win, 'cause you used Bob Saget on your image.

AdioBam - November 11, 2007 03:58 AM (GMT)
AW BOB SAGET

SkittleShmexRawr - November 11, 2007 04:07 AM (GMT)

DOES BOB HAVE TOURETTES?!

AdioBam - November 11, 2007 04:08 AM (GMT)

SkittleShmexRawr - November 11, 2007 04:26 AM (GMT)
Not at Bob Saget's fan forum, unlike YOU.

AdioBam - November 11, 2007 04:32 AM (GMT)
If I wasn't such a nice person, I would call you a dumbass.

SkittleShmexRawr - November 11, 2007 04:33 AM (GMT)
Lawl. You. Nice. Lawl, that's funny.

AdioBam - November 11, 2007 04:35 AM (GMT)
